• Aims & Scope

OPUS Journal of Society Research (JSR), (e-ISSN: 2791-9862) brings a range of different fields of theory, practice, and research in the quest for understanding human behavior in its social environment. The Interdisciplinary perspective provides the groundwork to present and establish a holistic relationship with other disciplines, concepts and methods. The OPUS JSR provides a medium for researchers to incorporate of an interdisciplinary approach for bringing forward different interpretations which could potentially lead to amplifying or conflicting statements. It is not only the intersection of categories, but the theoretical framework that analyses and interprets the subject under study. This framing often leads to an analysis of multiple and even conflicting social dynamics that enable certain kinds of social understanding that are otherwise invisible when scholars focus on a single set of theoretical dynamics. OPUS JSR reflects more than 10 years of journal sponsorship by ADAMOR Society Research Center and its partner organizations, the Institute of Urban Studies. The OPUS Journal of Society Research is the direct successor of two previously published journals: OPUS Turkish Journal of Social Policies and Work Life Studies: OPUS International Journal of Society Research.

  • Mission Statement

The globalization of the world economy, the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence, and the evolution of communication through mobile technologies profoundly influence our lifestyles, work patterns, and environmental interactions. This highlights the crucial role of the global research community in comprehending the social implications of science, technology, and broader societal contexts. Exploring the interactive dynamics of these complex issues has the potential to empower social scientists in understanding the evolving nature of our reality. Over the past two decades, technology has nearly surpassed human understanding, shaping social interactions and political landscapes from individual experiences to societal levels. These consequences are inherently social, unfolding at a human scale. Social scientists possess the theoretical perspectives and tools necessary to make sense of these developments. Integrating various theoretical approaches, methods of data collection, and interdisciplinary research are essential to address the current complexity and rapid pace of change, emphasizing the need for new approaches to conduct and disseminate interdisciplinary social science research.

  • Publication Frequency

The frequency of publication is six issues per year (i.e. six issues per volume, January, March, May, July, September, November each calendar year).
